SILMO 2012 // Garrett Leight California Optical

This year Garrett Leight California Optical had a monter at the SILMO fair in Paris for the first time! And what a great monter! Filled with the best collection so far and still keeping it classic and unisex.

GLCO has managed to combine the best materials with the best shapes.

These classics are hand made in America. Everything from hinges, acetate and plaques are of the best materials.

These beauties are lovely, slightly cat shaped and made of great custom made acetate.

What is old is new.

What is old is new. There are several glasses in a 1920’s or 1930’s type of style. They are so beautiful and classic. Traditionally made metal frames in a slightly droopy round shape, delicate details in the metal and tortoise colored rims.

From the top: Algha Savile Row Panto, Oliver Peoples Vintage MP-2, Barton Perreira Corso (46) and Garrett Leight Winston.

Look at the amazing details!

So delicate.

Garrett Leight in Paris

In Paris I met Garrett Leight and Elena Doukas to see the Garrett Leight glasses. It was great to finally meet them since we at Bonocle like the frames so much! We had a great time and talked most of the time so I kinda forgot to take pictures.

What I can tell you is that great things are about to come! I am really really excited! Garrett is doing a great job, there are few models but all of them are truly well executed!

You can read more about Garret Leight’s frames here and here and stay tuned for future posts about Garrett Light!
