Singer Rita Ellis Hammer. I wish I had bumped into her myself. She looks gorgeous in red and those oversized round glasses! Her glasses are very similar to MYKITA’s Ornella:

New Theo
Bright colors! Bold shapes! Fun and Crazy. New yet timeless. Once you go Theo it’s hard to go back!
This is how I would describe Belgian eyewear brand Theo. The frames are sturdy and durable, the styles are bold and hard to place in a timeframe.

Theo had custom made Belgian chocolate made in a shape of a pair of round spectacles.

Love you right back!
MYKITA Mylon
The frames are made of just powder. Wait now, what? POWDER? Yes, Powder.
MYKITA presented their new series of Mylon Frames at Silmo in Paris. Mylon is like nothing else you’ve seen or touched before!
The first Mylon collection was fun and experimental while this new collection is wearable, sporty and more useable.
The material Mylon is very special and the making of these frames is not like any other. The shape is drawn in 3D in a computer, a laser beam then prints on powder made of Nylon in layers after layers. Where the laser hits, the Nylon melts and hardens. This allowes MYKITA to experiment with the shapes and make really advanced frames! Afterwards the front and temples are lifted out and most of the remaining Nylon powder can be reused again. The parts are softened, colored and treated so that the surface feels alost like wood (very comfortable against the skin!) and the parts are put together with MYKITA’s special screwless hinges. The color won’t rub off and the material is super durable, it can’t break, but all Mylon frames can be adjusted.
This collection is a little bit more sporty, they fit very well around the head and they all come with Zeiss lenses in different colors. This is really a light and stylish sports sunframe that can be worn in the city as well! You can even put corrective lenses in most of the models!
There are seven different models, each of them come in three different colors.
Garrett Leight in Paris
In Paris I met Garrett Leight and Elena Doukas to see the Garrett Leight glasses. It was great to finally meet them since we at Bonocle like the frames so much! We had a great time and talked most of the time so I kinda forgot to take pictures.
What I can tell you is that great things are about to come! I am really really excited! Garrett is doing a great job, there are few models but all of them are truly well executed!
You can read more about Garret Leight’s frames here and here and stay tuned for future posts about Garrett Light!

Mayer Hawthorne – How Do You Do
At the Party…Hewett Street, London, UK
There was a charity event in Shoreditch, East London for East Africa. There I saw this beautiful girl in vintage Cutler And Gross frames.
Glasses Posters
I’m a fan of posters of glasses or anything eye-realted such as this one I wrote about some time ago. Here are a few more of my favorites:
