Both Jasmin and I have a special love for RVS eyewear. Avant-garde design and amazing colour combinations at its best. In addition, all colour combinations are unique. Forget about mass production and boring product catalogues, from RSV you get a truly unique piece of art.
Visiting Vidal’s studio/showroom
I had the chance to meet Vidal, the founder and creative soul behind RVS eyewear. Vidal, who was born in New York but moved back to Istanbul together with his parents when he was a kid, is now based in Istanbul from where he runs his business. He invited me to his studio/showroom in the heart of the city to show me some of the novelties.
It all started with vintage frames
Vidal started off selling vintage eyewear. It wasn’t until years later he decided to create his own collection, which started with a few show pieces made out of left over acetate that he managed to get manufactured. When the pieces were done, Vidal asked Selima in New York to showcase his collection in the store, on a “sell or return” agreement. Luckily for Vidal the Selima shop turned out to be the perfect place for his collection – it sold out, which made it possible for him to continue his creative work.
Metal frames from RVS
Latest from RVS eyewear is the new metal collection, containing thinner frames but with the same playful shapes and colours as we’ve seen on his acetate collections before. Two fabulous shades featured below.
Keep up the good job, Vidal!
If you’re looking for an optical store with charm in Stockholm you should give Occhio Optik a visit. A cozy optical store with great service.
They have a small boutique in MOOD, Stockholm. Here you find hand picked frames from several classic brands. The interior is very cozy and makes you feel at home very quick. It’s almost like visiting a vintage shop, but with both new as vintage products in a true classic look with great quality.
I fell in love with these amazing Linda Farrow Vintage sunnies. Violett!
Wow! Look what I’ve found at the Lunettes Store in Berlin: a vintage Cazal in a perfect skiing look with an elastic band on the back. Bonocle favorite!
Lunettes Brillenagentur, Berlin

Last weekend I visited the Lunettes Store at Torstrasse 172 in Berlin. What a beautiful boutique! They offer a huge collection of unworn vintage frames, both sun and ophthalmic. Besides that, they also have some handpicked brands (such as Clair Goldsmith, Moscot and Garrett Leight) and even more unique: their own line “Lunettes Kollektion” containing refined vintage shapes in interesting colors.
It’s a lovely story behind the lunettes shop. It all began with Uta Geyer. Uta was working as a scenery searching for vintage revisit for a theater when she came over the huge interest for vintage frames. Later on, she found such a beautiful (and cheap!) optometrists booth at eBay that she couldn’t resist to buy. One day, when sitting in a café she saw an empty boutique hall for rental… So all of a sudden she had an optometrists booth and a empty boutique just in front of her – this was a sign for the beginning of Lunettes Brillenagentur.

A rainy day in Stockholm…
I wish everybody could be this happy and colorful days like this. How lovely isn’t Sandra from Hotel Barbará? With her vintage Oliver Peoples frames, her smile and her super yellow donkey jacket every rainy day becomes a happy day!
