Yoko Ono with Linda Farrow sunnies together with John Lennon.
I love this picture, can’t get enough looking at it!
I’m so amazed about the story of Linda Farrow. With her roots as a clothing designer, she was the first person to put glasses into fashion and kind of the first woman to enter the very men manipulated optical business whatsoever. After designing glasses for the biggest fashion houses she established her own company 1970. She became very quick famous for her fashionable eyewear designs, worn by Yoko Ono among others.
A couple of years later she laid down the business to focus on her family instead. Now, decades later, the Linda Farrow business is active again. This time by her own son and his girlfriend, who came up with the idea after finding an old stock of vintage Linda Farrow eyewear. Today Linda Farrow is a worldwide brand again, still focused on eyewear as a fashion item. Besides the Linda Farrow vintage line, they also do collaborations with the fashion world and lately they’ve even created their very own line: Linda Farrow Lux. A prestigious high-end line, using the finest materials only.

Great looking Carolina Engman (aka Fashion Squad) and Mattias Swenson at Nytorget, Stockholm.
Carolina is wearing MYKITA for BONOCLE sunnies and Mattias is wearing Celine.

Magnus is matching the MYKITA for BONOCLE sunglasses perfectly well with his street-wear style. Looking good!

Jasmin Yaya in one of her favorite sunglasses – Oliver Goldsmith “Uuksuu” (model from 1964). This is one of the OG Icons Sunglasses, a lovely collection with a lot of colors and creativity.

Last weekend I passed by the Double Elvis Gallery in Stockholm and noticed this gorgeous girl. She looked so cool just siting their with her effortless cool style, enjoying the sun in her golden Ray-Ban 3447 with G15 lenses.

This is one of the best concept stores in Berlin, focused on mens wear. You find very carefully selected items and brands from all over the world. As a complement they also have a selection of sunglasses, mostly from HAN Kjobenhavn, Illesteva and Super. If in Berlin, make sure to visit this store. If not in Berlin, visit their online store (HERE).

Simply a perfect optical selection from the whole world! Also, you always get a very nice and personal treatment.

Each year Specsavers arranges a worldwide competition where all eyewear people can participate and compete for the title “Spectacle Wearer Of the Year”. Last week was the Swedish finale and Bonocle was there to see who will represent Sweden in the international finale. Beautiful Karin won, CONGRATULATIONS!
The winner Karin with the Jury: Petra, Fashion Editor at Metro and Pelle, Editor at King Magazine.
The winner Karin. We actually voted for her to win as well, she looks amazing in her oversize frames!
While there, we also took the chance to speak to Petra and Pelle from the jury.Â
“I really liked that the glasses allowed her [Karin’s] personality shine through.”
“I’ve been interested in glasses for a long time, my first glasses were a pair of Giorgio Armani, inspired by a Persian Doctor who wore them and I wanted the exact same as him.”
