On the Street… at Berns

The other week Jasmin and I found this gentleman at Berns Salonger in Stockholm. First of all he has a great unique style, that you don’t see often here in Sweden. Besides, he wore both a hat and a pair of glasses – two of my favorite accessories. A great looking gentleman!

Le Corbusier

Le Corbusier, pseudonym for Charles-Édouard Jeanneret, the famous French-Swiss architect and artist known for contibuting to what is called “Modern Architecture”. He was very loyal to one type of frame, in fact that type of glasses are called Le Corbusier or “Architect frames”.

This type of frame has lots of character, is bold and simple. A great feature is that even strong prescriptions look great in a round think frame like this. Frames inspired by the Le Corbusier frame:

This girl suits really great in her round sunglasses, and besides she has a very inspiring style. I hope to see more people that has the courage to wear a rare pair of sunglasses, that not necessarily has to be mainstream.

Green is the new brown

Lately, we’ve seen a lot of frames in green nuances. It’s like a couple of years ago, when all the classic black frames became brown, and now they are turning into green. Green is the new brown?

Wood grain

l.a. Eyeworks always has crazy shapes and colors. And now they have the craziest textures as well. It looks and feels like wood grain – feels very soft and natural – but its actual acetate!

Even other brands, such as Vasuma and Theo have made wood-inspired frames. What do You think? Bonocle loves it!

The Bonocle Girls’ new glasses

Both Jasmin and I bought ourselves a new pair of glasses this weekend, and ironically we both chose a round, retro/vintage, golden metal frame:

Jasmin’s frame is the thin one, from Savile Row. Mine is the second one, it is a vintage frame from Beau Monde that I found in the Bågar & Glas in Gamla Stan (Old Town) of Stockholm.
