Oliver Peoples – Kincaid
The new Oliver Peoples Kincaid has all the great details of a slightly smaller feminine aviator. It’s not droopy, the top bar is perfectly curved and the titanium finish is slightly matte.

At the Vasuma HQ
Recently I visited the Vasuma HQ in Old Town in Stcokholm. The Vasuma guys are always so friendly and it had been way too long since last time.
Vasuma is a Swedish street wear brand with really cool glasses. The styles are cool, young, fun and very wearable. All frames are named after snakes, because in Swedish Four-Eyes is Glasögonorm which kinda translates into “Glasses Snake”.
Friday at 10:00 am Vasuma Eyewear open up their doors for the yearly sample sale! They are selling styles from their sample collection at the amazing price of 500 sek/pcs. Inside information is to be there early, because the good stuff sells out quick.

Huggorm in transparent and black is a really chunky sunglass.

I really like the detail on the top.

Snok is one of my favorite frames – of all time! love the shape and the color!

Vasuma and Sandqvist collaborated on this gorgeous case. It’ll only look better the more you wear it!!
Meet MOSCOT “Metal” // MIDO 2012

Meet the new line of the Moscot Originals – not only made of Metal but also inspired of Metal Music! Really cool, yet classic. My favorite is the one I’m wearing in the picture – Mendel in Gold with 30% Violet Tinted Lenses.
Meet l.a.Eyeworks // MIDO 2012
l.a.Eyeworks!
It was so much fun meeting the l.a.Eyeworks Team at MIDO last week! Their booth was as colorful as the collection and they really popped out at the fair.

MYKITA MYLON // MIDO 2012
It all starts with a powder!
MYKITA‘s MYLON line is truly innovative and cool! At the MIDO 2012 fair in Milan, Italy they showed the different stages in the making of the MYLON frames.
MYKITA Designer Martin Güntert.
Right from the very start you can tell it’s not how any other frames are made, or anything else for that matter. The shape is drawn in 3D in a computer, a laser beam then prints on powder made of Nylon in layers after layers. Where the laser hits, the nylon melts and hardens. This allows MYKITA to experiment with the shapes and make really advanced frames! Afterwards the front and temples are lifted out and most of the remaining Nylon powder can be reused again. The parts are softened, colored and treated so that the surface feels almost like wood (very comfortable against the skin!) and the parts are put together with MYKITA’s special screwless hinges. The color won’t rub off and the material is super durable, it can’t break, but all Mylon frames can be adjusted.
This collection is a little sporty, they fit very well around the head and they all come with Zeiss lenses in different colors. This is really a light and stylish sports sunframe that can be worn in the city as well! You can even put corrective lenses in most of the models!

ROLF Wood Spectacles // MIDO 2012
ROLF is a small family-run business in the Tyrollean Alps. Everything from frames, hinge construction to sample cases and photos are made by the team. The finish of the frames is incredible and they are very comfortable and wearable even as ophthalmic frames. I tried several of their models at the fair and they fitted me great, without any adjustment needed (which is very important when buying a wood frame though they unfortunately aren’t adjustable).
The frames are totally made of wood, woodstone and some of the models are even available with buffalo temples. The prices are very various depending on the wood. This is a really high-end handcrafting, almost too good to be truth.
