bonocle // Lunettes Brillenagentur ViintageLove this combination! The total opposite of what we’re used to see on acetate/metal eyewear. Normally they have acetate on top, like to Clubmaster style. But this is just geeky and awesome!

Meet Vinylize Eyeworks

We’ve heard about many different ways of making eyewear. Lately maybe even more; skateboards and wood to mention a few. One of the biggest trends at Silmo was definitely classic shapes out of new materials, mostly wood though.

This is the first time I hear about eyewear made of recycling Vinyl records! Vinylize Eyeworks offer sunglasses made from vinyl records, all made and hand finished in their own workshop located in Budapest. Vintage meets futuristic style!

Meet Prestigious Schmidt Optics, Amsterdam

One of most prestigious opticians in Amsterdam

Carrying brands such as Catier Eyewear

Here you can sit down in peace trying frames with your optician

Here you find classic monocle’s of all styles

When I visited Amsterdam I discovered the prestigious optician Schmidts Optics at Rokin 72, 1012 KW in Amsterdam. The atmosphere is classical luxurious and has been looking almost the same since the establishment in 1866. A eminent old school optician offering prominent brands and classic optical items such as a wide range of monocle’s.

On the Street… Amsterdam, from Japan

When I was in Amsterdam I ran into this cute Japanese boy from Tokyo! I was so amazed about his colorful vintage/street style, perfectly matched together with a vintage frame. When I say frame this time I really mean just a frame. No prescription or window lenses on. Just a cool frame as a great accessory!

Apparently this is a huge trend in Japan I’ve heard, is it true? Does anyone know where it stems from? So interesting! Hope to see more of it in Europe soon.
