Hello italian style! I run into this handsome at the Silmo fair – looking extremely stylish in his Thom Browne sunnies.

SILMO 2012 // RVS by V – Handmade Eyewear
Meet RVS by V…
Wow! I don’t even know where to start – these frames are killing it!
Super thin metal, combined with crazy color combinations and stunning mirrors.
RVS by V also offers amazing acetate in interesting patterns with beautiful matte finish.
Visit their website (here).
SILMO 2012 // MYKITA Mylon SS13
You’ve seen MYKITA‘s previous Mylon series. It’s a total new way of making eyewear!
Read all about it here – from powder to a solid frame! (Instead of a block that is carved out). The weight and feeling of the Mylon material is similar to wood yet its flexible and very durable.
The first collection was super crazy. The second collection slick and sporty sunglasses. The SS13 collection shown at the SILMO fair in Paris holds thinner ophtalmic frames in round and aviator shapes.
New Marni
The new Marni frames I saw in Paris are probably the best collection so far. They are still very feminine and colorful but slightly larger, which will make them more weareable. The colors are red, blue, turquoise, yellow, green, puple, brown, beige and pastels. Most frames are a combination of transparent and opaque, matte and glossy or two-tone colored.
I instantly found my favorites:
Look at the fine details.
Love the color combination. No one does it like Marni.
New Graz
In Paris I met Graz Mulcahy, one of my favorite eyewear designers. Awesome to finally meet him!
You can tell he’s been working hard because he had many of new great frames to show, both sunglasses and optical. They’re beautiful, bold and fun. The colors are tortoise, gray, black and a few matte ones.
Great collection, can’t wait to see people wear them!
On his nose: A new Graz frame. On his neckline: A Garrett Leight sunglass.
I’m also very excited about the new glasses with Windsor rings around the metal on the front, like the one below:
I have a pair of the Joel frame (like the one below) that i love because they are bold and perfectly round. I am very happy that Graz also makes them in titanum now, so they’re much lighter! They come as sunframes and optical.
Graz also made this genius poster showing in a humorous and detailed way how glasses are made:
If you din’t know, now you know. Temples are boxed in with a canon a few times.
New Theo
Bright colors! Bold shapes! Fun and Crazy. New yet timeless. Once you go Theo it’s hard to go back!
This is how I would describe Belgian eyewear brand Theo. The frames are sturdy and durable, the styles are bold and hard to place in a timeframe.
Theo had custom made Belgian chocolate made in a shape of a pair of round spectacles.
Love you right back!
At the fair…Silmo 2011
At Silmo in Paris I met many cool people with cool glasses and I saw a few creative displays. Here’s a mix of the best!
Lidia, the cutest girl of Silmo wearing MYKITA Holly in Pale Blue and Gold!
Fun and crazy frame balanced out by a soft color works great together!
Philipp Haffmans, co-founder of MYKITA, in one of my favorite new metal frames from MYKITA!
Frederic at Oliver Peoples in Oliver Peoples NDG-1 sunglasses.
John Beyer in Cutler And Gross X Thomas Tait frame.
Mathias Bosson, Swedish rep for Baum Vision, trying on Leisure Society.
Mr. Handsome at Filao.
Filao Paris
Filao is a French eyewear accessory brand founded by Caroline Abram. She is so creative and mixes acteate, beads, wool, fabric, feathers and wood to make lorgnettes, chains and other aceessories. There are so many colors, materials and varieties!
The beautiful and creative Caroline Abram.
For those of you think eyewear chains are only for old people.
Colorful necklaces for hanging your eyewear in when you’re not wearing them!
New Moscot
At the Silmo fair in Paris last week I had the chance of meeting the awesome guys at Moscot. The New York-based eyewear brand had a few new models to show along with their classic ones.
Beautiful decorations. I love the heads covered with old newspaper.
Fourth generation Moscot: Harvey.
New lovely round frame called Zolman.
New Leisure Society
Last week I had the chance of looking at a few new frames from Leisure Society. The Leisure Society frames are made of the finest materials such as titanium, japanese acetate, gold and now horn. You can read more about Leisure Society here and here.
Here you can see the fine materials used for making this frame: acetate front, sides of the temples covered with horn and gold plated titanium.
This collage shows very well what Leisure Society stands for. Classic, elegant, beautiful yet functional.
Shane Baum, founder of Leisure Society and Baum Vision wearing the Cambridge.
